Now, I am not too partial to the short and sweet. Even despite how much I try to be, I seem to get quite carried away with words and such. However, in this moment, I'll be as precise as I can.

Leave out some of the usual fluff as I usually tend to do when it comes to sharing anything about my younger brother.

I'll begin with wishing him the warmest and happiest of birthdays. My (original) best friend, officially a quarter of a century today, has truly grown into a great man (though he'll always be my little brother in my eyes). And like a true millennial, met with the inevitable crisis of a young twenty something, he still manages to be unapologetically him. Black, educated and with no apology, he is GREAT. Full of, as THEY say, black boy magic. Well spirited, a comedian - like the rest of us - my little big brother is just a gem of an individual. I wish him nothing but the absolute best. With a degree under his belt and the start of his career well under way, I am sure this day is just one of many more GRAND days like this to come. God surely knew what He was doing when gave me this little guy as a sibling twenty five years ago. Today, will always be one of the highlights of my life.

To many more epic years. I leave my love.

Happy Birthday, my friend.

"To the outside world, we all grow old. But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were. We know each other's hearts. We share private family jokes. We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys. We live outside the touch of time."
